After all the dying I have been doing over the last few weeks I have been able to bring on-line more of the colourways that were out of stock.

The freezing weather has held me up from doing more at the moment, my studio only has background heating which is not enough to sit working without getting too cold.  Of course several layers of clothing helps but it is not easy to work when one is trused up like the proverbial turkey.

i WOULD LIKE TO WISH ALL MY CUSTOMERS 'SEASONS GREETINGS' AND 'A HAPPY NEW YEAR'

Its always exciting producing a new thread,  as well as some trepidation.

How will the thread react to the dye ?

Will the texture remain the same ?

And most importantly will you the customers like them.

Here is a peek preview of the first colours.

The thread is a super glossy 'Rayon Floss' which will give a lift to any piece of work.

I will make them available on line as soon as I have dyed the next batch of colours.

Keep watching my blogs.

Got the special order for carrier rods and cocoons, sorted,  will need now to get some more in the dye-baths.

At the present time I have a limited colour range. so I am looking forward to incresing the number of colours available.

At last the carrier rods and cocoons are dry and all packaged, they always seem to take forever to dry.

I am off to Wareham West Country Embroiderer's on Tuesday 12th October, for their Open Day, they are a great hospitable group and it is always an enjoyable day.

The new rayon floss has arrived so I am busy skeining up to start the dying process, I'm hoping to get the first of the colour-ways on-line shortly.

Watch out for further announcements !

Everyone is interested in jewellery makingat at the moment, Textile Jewellary is the fashion accessory to have, it is so easy to create something to enhance anything you are wearing, just right for the forthcoming party season.  Try fixing earwires to the top of a couple of cocoons and dangeling some strung beads from the centre, instant earings, for yourself or a quick to make gift for a friend.

So in responce to requests I am now going to offer  a range of dyed silk cocoons. They will be high grade cut silk cocoons ( this means the end has been cut away and the worm removed).

Those of you who already purchase carrier rods from me will be pleased that 'Rods & Pods' will now be available in combined packs as well as seperately.

So at the moment I am busy mixing up my dyes and trying to keep under control the bobbing cocoons.  Once dried and packaged they should be on line in a couple of weeks.

Best wishes,

Jenny

Somehow the beginning of the month of August for Jennifer Gail Threads is a 'behind the scenes' busiest  time of the year.  So as there are no exhibitions to go to and groups and clubs are taking their summer break, it is a period for taking stock and developing new lines.

Several customers have made requests and suggestions, we are working on ideas and ways in which some of these could be developed into regular lines.  Experimenting on new things for you the customer are one of the most exciting areas of all, it is thrilling to get a new product and create it in all the colourways.

I'll keep you posted on the new additions.  Will even get a picture if I can work out how to do it.

Meanwhile, all good wishes.

Took the shop to WCE’s Dorset Day last Thursday, these annual get togethers for the embroidery groups in Dorset are great fun and a good way of keeping up with friends both old and new. The next big outing is Brockenhurst’s ‘Needlework Fiesta’ at the end of April, more about that later
